What Happened in The Traitors: New Blood Episode 4?

The Round Table Resumes and Jay Holds Back

Episode 3 cut away just as Jay promised that his body-language expertise could point to the person the group should banish. Episode 4 resumes that same Round Table.

Jay doesn’t deliver. Asked to name the person his expertise points to, he says he has been “taking a beat today ’cause it’s been a lot.” The suspense he built at the end of Episode 3 goes nowhere.

Joe Pushes Back on the Katie Theory

Xavier Scruggs’s warning about Katie is still on the table, but it runs into resistance. Joe Vanella says he spent considerable time with Xavier and never heard him mention Katie. Tomica Adams then urges the group to move on to another subject.

Joe’s account conflicts with what Logan and Jay reported about Xavier. It’s a Traitor defending a fellow Traitor, not independent proof that Xavier said nothing, and it helps steer the discussion away from Katie.

The First Round Table: Arisa Becomes the Target

The Case Against Arisa

The discussion returns to the suspicion carried over from Episode 3. Abby Lee says there is “too much evidence” against Arisa, repeating her claim that Arisa took a shield in the crypt and hid it.

The accusation is still unproven. Arisa’s crypt partner, Morgan Cook, cannot confirm it. Arisa’s earlier truth test with Victor did happen. However, the theory that it was the “battle in plain sight” described in the Episode 3 clue is something viewers know is wrong: the real battle was between Katie and Xavier.

Victor Draws Votes Again

Victor Vollbrechthausen becomes the other main target. Niyyah Hayes questions why he didn’t defend Arisa, contrasting it with how he stood up for Madeline in Episode 2. Joe and Michael Foote also argue against Victor, and Victor tries to turn the table’s attention toward Michael.

The arguments keep Victor competitive in the vote. They don’t establish that he is a Traitor.

Katie Stays Out of the Vote

With Joe disputing Xavier’s warning and Tomica moving the conversation along, Katie never becomes the table’s main target. Her name came up, but the votes go elsewhere.

Arisa Is Banished 13–5–1

Arisa is banished and reveals she is Faithful. “So, I’ve had a lot of fun playing this game with you guys,” she says. “And from the beginning I have and always will be Faithful.”

The Faithful have now banished one of their own at each of their first two completed votes. They have earned nothing from the $15,000-per-Traitor bonus.

A New Suspicion Replaces the Old One

Abby says she feels bad about pushing the Arisa theory. Almost immediately, though, a new suspicion emerges.

Sherry Kuehl tells Abby, “we know there’s not three female Traitors.” Abby repeats the remark to Logan, Kriste Lewis, Abbey Benjamin and Clyde Moser, asking how Sherry could know how many Traitors there are.

Sherry’s comment reads as an assumption rather than secret knowledge, but it makes her a new point of scrutiny. Logan, still concerned about Katie, also notes how quiet Sherry was at the Round Table. The episode does not show the wider castle turning against her.

The Traitors Choose Logan

Three Murder Candidates

Joe, Tomica and Katie meet to choose the night’s murder. Joe has heard about Abby’s suspicion of Sherry and sees a possible future scapegoat there. The Traitors discuss three candidates:

CandidateWhy the Traitors consider them
Logan SmithSmart, vocal at the Round Table and still concerned about Katie
Abby LeeQuietly has Tomica on her radar; her death could also increase attention on Sherry
Mark ZgodaSeen as a trusted Faithful whose death would shake the group

Katie Makes the Call

Joe and Tomica let Katie make the final choice, and she picks Logan. She cites how vocal he has been. Joe and Tomica regard his suspicions about Katie as relatively “frivolous.”

The choice involves a trade-off. Removing Logan silences one of the people raising Katie’s name. It also risks making his warning about her look more credible, because he is killed just after voicing it.

The decision shows Katie now has real influence inside the Turret, just two episodes after joining. It does not establish her as the group’s permanent leader.

Logan Is Murdered

The murder arrives as a letter from the Traitors. Viewers see Logan reacting in a departure confessional rather than an attack. “It finally arrived in the mail,” he says. He reflects that he mentioned Katie the day before and wonders whether he got close.

At breakfast, Logan’s absence tells the group he has been murdered. Alan Cumming breaks Logan’s framed picture and announces, “Logan’s run has come to an end. You are now Lo-gone.”

The Faithful read this killing as more strategic than the earlier ones.

The Death Parade Mission

How the Death Parade Works

Cumming introduces the Death Parade with $24,000 available. The players push carts carrying gold along a path and must get through three gates before the parade catches them. To open each gate, the group has to leave players behind.

The twist is what happens to those players. Anyone caught by the parade joins a shortlist for a future murder, a new wrinkle on the usual Traitors murder mechanics. Being caught is not an immediate elimination. The mission also offers no new shield or Traitor clue.

Who Gets Caught at Each Gate

GatePlayers left behind
FirstVictor Vollbrechthausen, Niyyah Hayes, Morgan Cook, Mark Zgoda
SecondTomica Adams, Kriste Lewis
ThirdJoe Vanella, Clyde Moser, Sherry Kuehl, Abby Lee

Ten players are publicly marked by the parade, but that is not a list of ten vulnerable Faithful. Joe and Tomica are both on it, and viewers know they are Traitors. The other players do not.

The seven who stay ahead of the parade are Abbey Benjamin, Ben McDonnell, Jay, Katie, Michael, Shane Beatty and Wyatt Gillespie.

Cumming tells the castle it will attend a funeral for one of the players left behind. The episode does not show who.

How Much Money Is Won

The group gets $12,000 to the finish, half of the $24,000 available. That lifts the prize pot from $65,000 to $77,000.

Jay’s Chaos Has a Strategy

Jay’s behavior during the mission causes the episode’s clearest relationship strain. He keeps promising to name his suspect while refusing to be left behind at the gates, which frustrates players who are taking that risk themselves. Katie challenges him to contribute. Jay briefly calls out Kriste.

He later apologizes to the group and says Katie’s intense reaction only increased his suspicion of her.

His confessional explains the approach. Jay says the chaos is deliberate: he hopes the Traitors will see him as a distraction worth keeping alive rather than a threat worth murdering. That reframes his erratic Round Table performance as a survival strategy, not just disorganization.

It also has an effect on Michael. Despite Jay’s delivery, Michael starts to think the Katie theory may deserve attention.

The Final Round Table: Jay Names Katie

The season’s third Round Table opens with Jay. This time, he says, he will “be concise.” He tells the group he has been collecting information over four days and names Katie as the player he believes is a Traitor.

Katie had already expressed concern that Jay would come after her. The episode ends with her facing a direct and accurate accusation, before Jay’s full case is tested and before anyone votes.

The Traitors: New Blood Episode 4 Ending Explained

What Happened

Jay names Katie as the Traitor he suspects at the opening of a new Round Table. The episode cuts away there.

Why It Matters

Katie’s name has been building toward this moment. Her path to the turret began with the Accomplice twist in Episode 1. Xavier warned people about her and then disappeared. Logan kept raising his warning and was murdered. Now Jay has named her outright.

Viewers know Katie is a Traitor. The Faithful don’t, and the person making the accusation is the player whose credibility has taken the most damage.

Was Katie Banished?

No. The vote at this Round Table has not happened by the end of Episode 4.

What Episode 5 Needs to Resolve

Whether Jay can convince the room, and whether Katie can survive the first direct accusation of her game. The Death Parade funeral is also still pending. Both are covered in our The Traitors: New Blood Episode 5 recap.

Across the season so far, Kim Daily, Xavier Scruggs and Logan Smith have been murdered, and Madeline Kostopulos and Arisa Thomas have been banished. All five were Faithful, apart from Xavier, who was a Faithful Accomplice.

What Episode 4 Changes for the Season

The Faithful are 0 for 2 at the Round Table. Arisa’s banishment is the second in a row to remove an innocent player on a theory the audience knows is wrong.

Katie now shapes Traitor decisions. Joe and Tomica handed her the murder choice. She used it to remove a player raising her name, accepting the risk that his death makes that suspicion look stronger.

Sherry is a new target in the making. Her comment about female Traitors is spreading, and Joe has already noticed it as a potential scapegoat.

The Death Parade leaves a threat hanging. Ten players are on the public shortlist and a funeral has been promised, but two of the ten are secretly Traitors.

Jay’s theory is right, but his credibility is weak. He has named the correct Traitor, but his style has cost him trust, which makes his accusation harder to sell.

Every recap from the season is collected in the The Traitors: New Blood episode guide.
