Parks holds a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and built a practice representing entertainment clients before Bravo ever called. That legal training, constructing and dismantling arguments for a living, gave her a skill set almost nobody else at the Round Table had.

Parks joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a main cast member in 2010 and stayed for seven seasons, becoming known for her wit and for a marriage storyline that dominated headlines: her husband, Apollo Nida, was convicted of fraud and identity theft in 2014 and sentenced to eight years in federal prison, a saga Parks navigated on camera while raising their two young sons.
