Bob the Drag Queen arrived at Season 3 of The Traitors with a specific, historic distinction already attached, and left with an unlikely real-world friendship that’s outlasted the show itself.
Before any of that, Bob the Drag Queen had already made drag history on a completely different competition show.
Winning RuPaul’s Drag Race
Bob the Drag Queen, legal name Christopher Delmar Caldwell, won RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8, becoming one of the franchise’s most vocal and politically engaged winners. That victory made Bob the first Drag Race winner to compete on The Traitors, and the first drag performer of any kind to be cast as one of the show’s Original Traitors.
An Influential Original Traitor
Once inside the game, Bob quickly became one of the more influential voices in the Traitors’ private turret meetings, reportedly playing a significant role in swaying the group’s decisions on who to murder, including the eliminations of Dorinda Medley and Chanel Ayan. That behind-the-scenes influence didn’t protect Bob from suspicion, though. Growing doubts from castmate Dylan Efron, combined with a tense confrontation with fellow Traitor Rob Mariano, led to Bob being banished at the end of Episode 4, the earliest-banished Traitor of the season. Bob has since described the clash with Mariano candidly in interviews, saying they felt “fully, literally gagged” by him during the conflict.
A Podcast Partnership With a Former Rival
Despite the early exit, Bob remained a vocal, opinionated presence in post-season commentary, weighing in publicly on other players’ strategic mistakes. That continued visibility set up one of the more unexpected franchise connections to come out of Season 3: Bob and Mariano, despite their in-game clash, went on to co-host The Traitors’ official companion podcast tied to Season 4.
What Sets Bob Apart
What makes Bob stand out in a cast this size isn’t just the historic Drag Race distinction. It’s that Bob managed to be simultaneously one of the most strategically active Traitors in the turret and one of the most well-liked personalities in the general cast, a combination that rarely survives contact with a Round Table vote.
