Ryan Lochte spent the better part of two decades as one of the fastest swimmers alive, racking up hardware that still ranks him among the most decorated athletes in Olympic history. Lochte married Kayla Rae Reid, a former Playboy model, in 2018. The couple had three children together before reports surfaced in 2025 that they had separated.
In November 2023, Lochte was driving to pick up his children from school when the car ahead of him swerved to avoid a garbage truck blocking the road. Lochte swerved too and collided with the truck, breaking his femur and suffering a head injury severe enough that bystanders feared he hadn’t survived.
