Gabby Windey: From ICU Nurse to Bachelorette to Champion

Gabby Windey went from working as an ICU nurse to co-leading a season of The Bachelorette to winning Season 3 of The Traitors, a trajectory that’s given her one of the more unusual career arcs to come out of Bachelor Nation.

Before any of the television, Windey spent years working in a hospital ICU, a background that shaped how she approached the pressure of a game built on constant suspicion.

An ICU Nurse Before Reality TV

Windey worked as an ICU nurse before her reality-TV career began, experience that gave her a level head under real pressure long before cameras entered the picture. That background became part of her public identity once she joined Bachelor Nation, distinguishing her from castmates without a clinical career behind them.

Bachelor Nation to Podcast Host

Windey was a finalist on Season 26 of The Bachelor before co-leading Season 19 of The Bachelorette alongside Rachel Recchia, one of the format’s rare dual-lead seasons. That Bachelor Nation fame gave her real crossover recognition heading into a Traitors cast built from several different corners of reality TV.

The Bambis and a Traitor-Hunting Streak

Windey played the entire season as a Faithful, part of the alliance nicknamed “the Bambis” alongside Chrishell Stause and Nikki Garcia. She was involved in incorrectly banishing her friend and ally Nikki Garcia, a misstep in an information-starved game where Faithfuls are constantly guessing, and she lost Stause to a mid-game murder soon after. Rather than derailing her, those losses seemed to sharpen her game. She became one of the most active and effective Traitor-hunters in the back half of the season, helping carry her all the way to the winning banishment of the last Traitor, Britney Haynes.

Windey’s win made her a co-champion alongside Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, and Lord Ivar Mountbatten, the first four-way Faithful win in the American version’s history, and Deadline reported she signed with UTA shortly after the finale aired.

Coming Out and Long Winded

Windey came out and revealed she was dating comedian Robby Hoffman, and outlets have reported the two later married in a private ceremony. The couple co-hosts Windey’s podcast, Long Winded, where they’ve discussed their relationship, including some of the trust issues they’ve worked through, openly and by their own choice.
